Unvaccinated civil servants who are eligible for COVID-19 vaccination must show a negative PCR test every two weeks beginning September 1, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) informed on Thursday.
According to a statement issued by the CSC, under health protection legislation, Director General of Public Health Maimoona Abu Bakr informed that unvaccinated civil servants eligible for the COVID-19 vaccination must show a negative PCR test result every two weeks.
The Commission instructed that all government agencies follow the directive and encourage vaccine-eligible personnel to get vaccinated.
As a means of encouraging vaccination, the Health Protection Agency issued additional COVID-19 restrictions for the unvaccinated population, such as forbidding unvaccinated individuals from accessing schools, cafés/restaurants, salons, and gyms.
According to the most recent official data, 80% of the eligible population has received their first dose, with 69% having received their second dose.
