Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation has announced vehicles will be banned for four hours in Male’ City during Eid al-Fitr.
The transport ministry announced vehicles will be prohibited between 1600hrs and 2000hrs in Male’ on Eid except for law enforcement and emergency vehicles.
Moreover, the transport ministry has also decided to close off some roads in Male’ between 0900hrs and 1900hrs on the day after Eid. As such, roads near Rasfannu and the West Park area in Male’ will be closed for vehicles during this time. These roads are being closed to facilitate the children’s event organised by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The transport ministry prohibits vehicles in the evening hours of Eid every year, to allow families to walk on the roads conveniently during this time. This year’s Eid al-Fitr falls on May 2.
