Vice President Faisal Naseem has officially launched a road development project in Hoarafushi, Haa Alif Atoll.
Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) will carry out the Hoarafushi road development project, which will comprise the construction of 11 asphalt surfaced roads.
Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Aishath Nahula, Hoarafushi MP Ahmed Saleem, Hoarafushi Island Council President Mohamed Waheed, and MTCC COO Shahid Hussain Moosa, together with top officials from MTCC, attended the inaugural event on Friday.
This project will include construction of 11 new asphalt roads with a length of around 5,300 meters, it will consist of a 25,909 square meters of sub-base preparation and 11,113 square meters of footpath preparations.
In addition to this, the road development project includes a stormwater management system along with the installation of road markings, speed breakers, and streetlights.
The project was granted to MTCC by the Ministry of National Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure for MVR 90.71 million and is expected to be completed in 470 days.
