Vice President Faisal Naseem departed on Thursday for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to attend the fifth Indian Ocean Conference (IOC) 2021.
The IOC 2021 will be held in Abu Dhabi from December 4 to 5.
According to the President’s Office, the vice president will be the conference’s chief guest and will make an address at its inaugural session.
The two-day conference would begin on December 4, with special plenary sessions slated on the following day, and the topic of IOC 2021 would be “Ecology, Economy, Epidemic.”
A high-level group from the President’s Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is accompanying the vice president on the visit. He is scheduled to return to the Maldives on Wednesday.
