A viral video of a student with autism being bullied and physically assaulted at Gaafu Dhaalu Education Center has enraged the social media.
The viral video on social media showed a fellow student approaching the autistic student and exchanging heated words with him before starting to physically assault the student. While the student with autism tries to defend himself, fellow students get between the two and break off the fight.
Local sources have said the incident happened in front of a teacher and many on social media have voiced concern over the matter. Many have called on Ministry of Education to take urgent actions against such incidents.
Ministry of Education and Gaafu Dhaalu Education Center is yet to make a statement on the incident.
