Vice President Faisal Naseem and Adam Azim, CEO of the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), have reviewed the progress of the K. Guraidhoo land reclamation and shore protection project.
Vice President Faisal Naseem paid a visit to K. Guraidhoo on Sunday and met with members of the Island Council.
During the meeting, Council Members expressed their appreciation for beginning a government project to reclaim 15 hectares of land to address the island’s land scarcity.
Furthermore, the vice president went on a tour of the island and met with the administrators of important facilities to enquire about any critical issues and the most recent updates.
The K. Guraidhoo land reclamation and shore protection project includes 644,000 cubic metres of dredging and reclamation activities, as well as the construction of a 1200-meter rock boulder revetment.
According to MTCC, the project is worth MVR 85.9 million.
